Menopause is perhaps one of the most delicately discussed phenomena in women’s health.

It is very common for women to have feelings of apprehension or shame regarding this life-altering milestone. Exercise is another significant game-changer during menopause. Investing time into daily aerobic exercises such as running, dancing, and hiking all help boost metabolic levels, which also increases physical energy. Exercise is also a great tool for demolishing anxiety and stress, which we all know we have plenty of.

Find supportive networks.

Undergoing intense emotional and physical change is never easy. Even with the support of friends and family, it’s reasonable to feel isolated and lonely at times. Taking classes for recreational activities like yoga, meditation or cooking are great ways to interact with like-minded women. It can be very emotionally refreshing to make new connections with people who aren’t completely integrated into more personal facets of your life. Sometimes, you just need a lighthearted break- and that’s okay.

Simply reading the advice and experiences of other women is enough to feel encouraged and validated. Being inspired by the achievements of other people is always positive motivation for making the changes one desires making.

Growing older is a beautiful privilege. At times, it feels scary, confusing, and outright exhausting. However, it is true that growth occurs the most during these challenging stages. Menopause is certainly not a walk in the park- but it is a powerful reminder of just how much one has grown as a woman: physically, emotionally, and spirituality.
